1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using CryptoBox ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the publisher of CryptoBox ("we", "us", or "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use CryptoBox. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. License to use the app

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use CryptoBox on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the extent expressly permitted by law.
  • Use the app to build a competing product or service.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the app.

All rights not expressly granted to you remain with us.

4. Master password & security

CryptoBox protects your data with a master password that only you know. You are solely responsible for:

  • Choosing a strong, unique master password.
  • Keeping your master password confidential and storing a recovery copy somewhere safe and offline.
  • Maintaining the security of any device on which you install the app.

Important: The master password is never sent to or stored on our servers. We cannot recover, reset, or bypass it. If you lose your master password, your encrypted vault and its contents will be permanently inaccessible. We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from a forgotten master password.

5. Your content

"Your Content" means any data you choose to store in CryptoBox, including but not limited to photos, videos, files, credentials, 2FA secrets, identity records, and notes.

  • You retain all rights, title, and interest in Your Content. We do not claim ownership of any data you store in the app.
  • You are solely responsible for the legality of Your Content and your right to store and use it.
  • Because Your Content is encrypted on your device, we do not access, view, or process it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CryptoBox to:

  • Store, transmit, or process content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or violates the rights of others.
  • Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the app, other users, or related services.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network associated with the app.
  • Use the app to transmit malware, viruses, or any other malicious code.
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.

7. Purchases & subscriptions

Some features of CryptoBox may be offered as one-time purchases or recurring subscriptions ("Premium Features"). All purchases are processed through the platform's official store (e.g., Apple App Store) and are subject to the platform's terms of sale.

  • Pricing: Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local currency where supported.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your platform account settings.
  • Refunds: Refunds are handled by the platform store according to its policies. We do not directly process refunds.

8. Updates & changes to the app

We may release updates, bug fixes, and new versions of CryptoBox from time to time. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue features without prior notice. Some updates may be required for the app to function properly with future operating system versions.

9. Third-party services

CryptoBox may rely on services provided by third parties such as Apple. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of any third-party service.

10. Disclaimers

CryptoBox is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.

While we use industry-standard cryptography to protect your data, we do not guarantee that the app will be free of bugs, errors, or vulnerabilities, or that any data stored in the app will be perfectly secure under all circumstances. You acknowledge that you use the app at your own risk.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall we, our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of use, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, CryptoBox.

Our total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us, if any, for the app in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) USD 10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us and our affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your use of the app, (b) Your Content, or (c) your breach of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using CryptoBox and delete the app at any time. We may also suspend or terminate your access to the app or any features at our discretion, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

Provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) shall survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which the publisher of CryptoBox is located, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. To the extent permitted by law, you and we agree that any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice through the app. Your continued use of CryptoBox after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
